The story of missing 11 days

Hello folks,

In England, the days from 3rd Sept 1752 to 13th Sept 1752 doesn't exist. These exactly 11 days. The people of England slept on 2nd Sept and woke up directly on 14th Sept.  These missing days simply never existed, meaning no births, no marriages, no deaths etc happened during these days.
This created riots in England. People of England thought that they had lost 11 days of income as Government is cheating them by cutting number of days. To stop the riots, Government of England decided to provide the wages of those 11 missing days And from here the concept of "Paid leave" came which is followed in almost all the companies in today's world. Many people also thought that their lives had been shortened by 11 days hence they protested in the streets demanding "Give us back our 11 days".

The Story :
Till 2nd Sept 1752, England was following the Julian calendar. Julian calendar assumes a full year is 365.25 days whereas in actual it is 11 minute less, meaning 365.2425 days. This created a problem of additional 1 day every 128 years or additional 3 days every 400 years.
This problem was rectified in Gregorian calendar designed by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582. In Gregorian calendar, Only The century year divided by 400 is leap year whereas in Julian calendar, every century year is leap year.
For Ex : Year 1700,1800,1900 is not leap year according to Gregorian calendar but 2000 is.

So on 2nd Sept 1752, England decided to switch from Julian calendar to Gregorian calendar which was 11 days ahead as of then. Hence, they had to adjust for those 11 days and 3rd Sept immediately became 14th Sept, The story of missing 11 days!!
